BSEC Order on change circuit breaker of Dhaka Stock Exchange
1 min readBangladesh Security Exchange Commission in the interest of investors and for the development of the securities market, it is expedient to regulate the share price movement in trading of the stock exchanges.
Now, therefore in exercise of the power conferred by Section 20A of the Securities and Exchange Ordinance, 1969 ( Ordinance No. XVII of 1969), the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission hereby directs on a temporary basis the Dhaka Stock Exchange Limited and the Chittagong Stock Exchange Limited to impose standard downward price change limit (circuit breaker) of 5% instead of 2%– based on the previous trading day’s closing price.
The upper limit of the circuit breaker shall remain unchanged.
This order shall supersede the previous order dated 08 March 2022.
This Order will have immediate effect from Thursday and remain in force until further order.
