Despite the 65.74 point rise of the DSEX index, such disproportionate trade resulted in the price increase of only 88 companies out of a total of 375 actively traded businesses under Dhaka Stock Exchange.
The DSEX, the broad-based index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), crossed 6,600 points on Monday after four months, riding on the confidence of some high-net-worth individuals.
As of 19th, September DSE’s closing share price current RSI of DSEX is 67.63.
The DS30 Index, composed of blue chip companies, rose 42.59 points to close at 2,406 and the DSES Index advanced 15.72 points to finish at 1,451.
Since October 2021, stocks have been on a downward trend, and in February, the Ukraine War led to increased selling.
A price floor was established by the regulator on individual scrips at the end of July, which stopped the market’s decline. After that, the market kept regaining.
88 gaining scrips more than offset the negative effects of 155 dropping scrips at the DSEX because a handful of popular large-cap stocks predominated.
128 scrips, on the other hand, didn’t alter, mainly due to their price floor-bound status.
The top 5 companies in total traded 745.05 crores which is 37.44% of today’s total market turnover.
The miscellaneous sector and pharmaceuticals sector are the top traded sector of DSE today. The miscellaneous sector accounted for 475.22 crores (24.85% of total market turnover) and the pharmaceuticals sector accounted for 404.98 crores (21.18% of total market turnover). In combined both sector traded total of 880.2 crores which is 46.03% of today’s total market turnover.
